Let’s go where the RIVR flows

Thomas Green and Samuel Hodge were brought together by a musical connection between brothers in 2019. They began exploring their musical chemistry and combining their creative geniuses when they were both members of the band LUCY. It wasn’t long before Samuel and Thomas began experimenting with new material and had come up with the idea for their first song as a duet, that’s when they realized they had something special that was worth exploring. They very quickly got into the studio and recorded their first song, “Illuminate”. After recording “Illuminate” they knew they had so much more they wanted to create and that’s exactly what they continued to do. Countless hours of creativity were poured out and honestly their chemistry was stronger together than the decades they had spent with other bands before. One night after pouring into this project, Thomas mentioned to Samuel that he was amazed at how well the two of them just “flowed together”. So He shared the thought, “With Sam what do you think about naming this project RIVR? Sam was in total agreement and the two of them thought it was a perfect fit for the project. RIVR has become much more than just two guys sharing the same dream and goals. RIVR Now has a new member Michael Moore aka Jay drum master mind. So they are now 3 members strong. Jay started writing drum parts for the current songs and they soon hit the studio to record. They released their first EP called RIVR - Episode One on Nov 27th 2020. The album includes the first song Sam and Thomas wrote together called illuminate this song is uplifting about finding light in the dark. Requiem has a dark feel about where do we go when we pass away is it everything we all talk about and dream of it’s a mystery. Next song is Detours this is one of the bands favorite songs to play live it’s one of those good feeling songs that has a smooth sound and a message that we all face daily we all make choices we all run into detours in life this is a call out song when you can’t find your way. Last but not least Goodbye Tomorrow is a song about a story of a man who was going through a lot in life and having heart issues and money problems he let lifes hard times get the best of him and he took his own life. This song is saying no more suicide we don’t want to have to say goodbye because of suicide we wanted this story to reach out to those and say we have a choice tomorrow is a new day. All through 2021 Sam & Thomas have been playing acoustic in the open mic circuit in Oklahoma City to promote these new songs all while writing and recording new music to be released in 2022. Keep an eye out for new things coming this year. RIVR just launched there new website @ RIVRMUSIC.NET
